Merchant of the Week: Kiran Indian Cuisine

Garlic Naan is one of Kiran’s most ordered items.

Working at has given me the opportunity to expand my knowledge of restaurants throughout all of New York, and one thing I’ve learned very quickly is the Indian food scene in New York is serious! It would be hard to mention all of the great Indian restaurants on – there are so many – so this week, we’re taking a look at one spot in NYC that’s definitely worth ordering from.

Indian food is known for its intense spices, play on spicy and sweet and technique; Kiran Indian Cuisine is scores high marks in all those areas. With two locations in Midtown, Kiran specializes in cuisine from the Moghlai region and techniques with tandoori cooking.

So what should you order? The naan and saag paneer are overwhelming fan favorites, that we would suggest to anyone going to Kiran for the first time.  The extensive menu gives the customers a glimpse into the best food that India has to offer, and also has many vegetarian options for those with food restrictions.

Next time your feeling adventurous, and want to try something besides the normal (Italian, Mexican, Chinese), give Indian a try. New York is brimming with Indian restaurants, just waiting for someone to notice their rightful spot in the city. Kiran Indian Cuisine is a great place to start.
