Merchant of the Week: This Little Piggy Had Roast Beef

The “That Way” sandwich comes piled high with juciy roast beef.

There are only four different sandwiches on the menu at This Little Piggy Had Roast Beef, but at this tiny storefront on First Avenue, it’s all about quality – not quantity.

The East Village sandwich shop comes from the same folks who brought you Artichoke pizza and Led Zeppole. These guys know food, and after tasting the fare at This Little Piggy, we can safely say they know sandwiches too. All of the sandwiches at This Little Piggy are piled high with fresh, delicious ingredients. The roast beef is juicy, the rolls are crusty and the mozzarella (if you don’t take the Cheez Whiz route) is top notch. They are classic sandwiches done right and now, they’re available or order on!

Pastrami, coleslaw and mustard come together on “The Other Thing”

Here’s what you’ll find on their menu:

  • This Way: Roast beef on a roll with au jus and cheez whiz.
  • That Way: Roast beef on a roll with gravy and fresh mozzarella.
  • The Other Thing: Pastrami with coleslaw and spicy brown mustard.
  • Something Else: Roast beef on a roll with cheez whiz, fresh mozzarella, gravy, au jus and hand-cut fries.

No matter what sandwich you order, you’ll be in for a big, messy, delicious treat, and a welcome change from your regular sandwich order. You’ll probably be plenty full from just a sandwich, but adding an order of fries or homemade macaroni salad is never a bad idea.
