The Michelin Man knows the best spots to eat in NYC.

It was big news in the restaurant world this week when the 2011 NYC Michelin Guide rankings were released. Who got three stars? Who lost a star? But there’s more to the guide than just fine dining restaurants.

In addition to those fancy-pants eateries, Michelin also has a Bib Gourmand category, which often features more casual, less expensive places that are still really, really good. To be selected for a spot on the Bib Gourmand list the restaurant must serve two course and a glass of wine or dessert for $40 or less. The 100 restaurants on the Bib Gourmand list are some of the best places in New York to get a high-quality meal at an affordable price.

While we were looking over the list (and our mouths were watering), we couldn’t help but notice a few spots that are on We’ve listed them below so you can get a taste of what the Michelin Guide is praising as some of the best east in New York.
