AM New York’s “Must List”

What would a Must list be without merchants?

If you picked up a copy of AM New York on your way to work today, you saw their Must List for eating and drinking – the top restaurants, bars, food trucks and dishes NYC has to offer.

We were happy to see a couple merchants mentioned on the list, and thought we’d let you in on AM New York’s kind words about some of our favorite merchants. Take a look at what the paper had to say about these places, and then start ordering!

Cucina Di Pesce

They say: “A neighborhood standby, Cucina Di Pesce has been serving quality Italian to the East Village since 1986. Pop into their bar area during happy hour, and you might find out one of the reasons for their success (or at least their undying popularity). Every day from 4-8 p.m., patrons can score mussels marinara – for free! We’ve got to admit: After sampling the gratis bar snack, it’s hard to go back to stale pretzels and beer nuts.”

We say: Yes, those free mussels may be one of the reason for their success, but their are plenty others – most importantly, their delicious food.

Xiao Ye

They say: “While the food at this new Asian spot is in hot debate (Sam Sifton of the New York Times last week gave it zero stars), the raunch quotient of restaurateur Eddie Huang’s menu is not. Expect to start off your meal with an order of poontang potstickers or poo poo greens, before moving on general poke-her face prawns and finish with Taiwanese flat booty cake. Needless to say, Huang’s tongue in cheek menu is trying super-hard for a laugh.”

We say: We’ve already filled you in on this spot – dirtily-named dishes and all. If you haven’t ordered yet, what are you waiting for?
