We’ll eat Mexican food anytime, but we love it most for brunch. After all, isn’t everything – including eggs – better in a burrito?
Our merchant of the week, Cafe con Leche, certainly thinks so. This Chicago restaurant serves mostly Mexican food (with a little Cuban and Puerto Rican fare too), and specializes in breakfast and brunch.
Cafe con Leche in Bucktown has been around for just over two years, but in that short time has made a name for itself as a neighborhood favorite. Their popular weekend brunch, plus their daily breakfast, lunch and dinner menus, have a loyal following of Mexican food-lovers.
After a few bites of of any of their dishes – whether it’s the Huevos con Chorizo, Chilaquiles Breakfast, Chile Relleno or Veggie Breakfast Burrito – you may become a Cafe con Leche fan too.
If brunch isn’t your thing, there are plenty of lunch and dinner options too, including sandwiches, salads, burritos and tacos. Wash it all down with one of the restaurant’s signature drinks, like watermelon agua fresca, fresh-squeezed papaya juice or, of course, a cafe con leche.
