Calling all Aussies! Well, Aussies in NYC at least. Today is Australia Day, and there’s no better way to celebrate than by ordering some authentic Australian food.
Right now, there are only two Australian restaurants on Delivery.com and both of them are located in New York. What can we say? Australian food may not be the most popular cuisine out there, but those who’ve tried it know it’s delicious. If you want a taste, check out the menus at these local spots:
- Eight Mile Creek (240 Mulberry St., New York, NY) This Soho restaurant specializes in contemporary Australian cuisine. That includes everything from Wallaby Wings to Oven Roasted Rack of Australian Lamb. But if you only order on thing from Eight Mile Creek, make it the Aussie Burger with the Lot. This lean beef burger comes with lettuce, tomato, onions, pineapple, beetroot, and a fried egg. Yum.
- Tuck Shop (68 E. 1st St., New York, NY) This East Village spot is a bakery, but don’t expect to find any cookies or cakes on their menu. Instead, Tuck Shop specializes in Australian meat pies. From Traditional Beef to Chook (Chicken) and Ham to Pulled Pork and Slaw, there’s a pie for everyone – even vegetarians. Make sure to wash it all down with one of their signature homemade sodas.
