Restaurant of the Week: Hill Country Chicken

Order from Hill Country Chicken at

You’ve heard of Hill Country Chicken, right? The all chicken all the time spin-off restaurant of BBQ favorite Hill Country Barbecue Market, has been making headlines and gaining loyal fans since they first started serving up delicious fried chicken last year. What makes this chicken joint so special? Hill Country Chicken’s founder pulls inspiration from the Texas-style homecooking of his mother and grandmother, so the fried chicken, sandwiches, sides and pies all taste like something your grandma – if she was an amazing cook from Texas – would make!

Hill Country Chicken makes sure to choose the the best and freshest chickens for their signature fried chicken, so no matter what kind of chicken you order – drum, wing, tenders, or thigh – it will be extra tasty. If you want a little more than just fried chicken or chicken tenders, Hill Country Chicken also serves their chicken on sandwiches, like the Hill Country Club and their signature Texas Hand Roll, and on top of salads, like the Kickin’ Chicken Salad.

Every good fried chicken meal includes some great sides and Hill Country Chicken doesn’t disappoint with those either. Our favorites? The buttermilk biscuits, creamy coleslaw and cheesy fried mashed potatoes. That’s right. Cheesy, fried, mashed potatoes. It doesn’t get much better than that.

Wash it all down with a beer – Hill Country Chicken delivers those too – and finish it off with a slice of one of their homemade pies, which are almost as well known as their chicken. They bake the classics like cherry and coconut cream, but also have some signature pies that you’d normally only find in the South. We’re looking at you, Cowboy Pie.

It’s the week after Thanksgiving, and if we can only guess you’re pretty tired of turkey right now. Switch it up with an order from Hill Country Chicken at today!
