Restaurant of the Week: Sausalito Espresso in San Francisco

Not into waiting on long lines during the morning rush? We have a suggestion for a great new spot to try: Sausalito Espresso in SOMA! Mix up your breakfast routine by getting some great coffee, bagels, or sandwiches delivered to you in the morning from Delivery.com. Their selection of hearty breakfast dishes is sure to cure even the worst cases of Monday morning blues.

However, don’t let the name fool you, because Sausalito Espresso offers up more than just great coffee – they have interesting sandwiches and breakfast burritos as well. If we were ordering, we would get an egg white, avocado and brown rice scramble with a soy chai tea latte – yum! Other delicious things on the menu include oatmeal topped with bananas and the steamed soy milk.

After you’re done with breakfast, dare we say it, consider ordering from Sausalito for lunch! They have an impressive range of middle eastern food; the gyros, schwarma and falafel are customer favorites from this restaurant. Or maybe order a Hugh Hefner, a sandwich with chicken breast, melted cheddar, and avocado on rosemary foccacia for a perfect 1-2 punch of breakfast and lunch.

  • Visited the Sausalito Bakery and Cafe on a Monday morning, at around 10am. I was really surprised to find that the service, or possibly it was the manager(?), was the nicest man. He was very helpful and showed off all the pasteries in the display case to my friends and I. We ended up ordering a cinnamon roll and two servings of their freshly baked strudel. Everything was delicious. I am just wondering if they would have had more options, or different kinds of breakfast baked options available if we had come earlier. My friends also commented that the prices seemed a bit high. I paid around $6 for the cinnamon roll and a bottle of juice. But overall between the taste and service I was satisfied.
