Delivery.com Allows Members to Donate Delivery Points to City Harvest, Will Match Donations All Day

Delivery.com has partnered with City Harvest, the world’s first and NYC’s only food rescue program, by allowing members to donate their Delivery Points to City Harvest, a non-profit helping all of NYC cope with the effects of Hurricane Sandy. Delivery.com will then match the donations dollar for dollar until Midnight tonight.

City Harvest, the world’s first food rescue organization – and New York City’s private response in the fight against hunger – is working to deliver food and supplies to high-need locations across the five boroughs in addition to supporting its year-round network of emergency food partners. Delivery.com is proud to be working with City Harvest to help New Yorkers through this difficult time. So far, City Harvest has already delivered 200,000 pounds of donated and rescued food to residents affected by the storm.

About City Harvest

Now serving New York City for 30 years, City Harvest (www.cityharvest.org) is the world’s first food rescue organization, dedicated to feeding the city’s hungry men, women, and children. This year, City Harvest will collect more than 42 million pounds of excess food from all segments of the food industry, including restaurants, grocers, corporate cafeterias, manufacturers, and farms. This food is then delivered free of charge to some 600 community food programs throughout New York City by a fleet of trucks and bikes. City Harvest helps feed the more than one million New Yorkers that face hunger each year.
