Oscar Night Dining

The Oscars are coming!  That means a fabulous night of beautiful actors, gorgeous gowns and awards galore.  So instead of just watching the stars, why not act like one and spoil yourself with a night of fantastic food as well?  Skip the mess and stress and order in a wonderful meal that would make anyone jealous.  All you have to do is point and click online.

Small Plate Party – Some of the most fun and delicious parties I’ve ever attended have decided to skip serving a large meal and have instead gone for appetizers and hors d’oeuvres as the full menu.  This is great for casual parties and enables everyone to easily mingle and also try many different foods.  Great items can be bruschetta, sliced meats and cheeses, grilled chicken tenders and raw vegetables.  Or you could opt for a dip bar and go overboard with chips, breads and vegetables along with artichoke dip, hummus, and sweet and savory salsas.

Girls Night In – Make it a decadent night with the girls to gawk at gowns and gossip about the stars.  Get creative—forget about serving a formal dinner and go straight for desserts and wine!  Contact a french bakery and order a spread of macarons, chocolate truffles, and madeleine cookies.  For something fun and different, try contacting a frozen yogurt bar that offers catering.  Many will let you choose several different flavors of yogurt and all the toppings you’d like.  A few great dessert wines to go with your tasty treats are Moscatos, Rieslings, and Ports.

Dinner Time – If you’d like to have a more traditional meal, consider having everything catered and let yourself relax for the evening.  If you’re in the mood for Italian, why not order a tray of Pesto Chicken & Sausage Pasta with a big Antipasto salad.  If you’d like something spicy, go Indian with Chicken Tikka Masala and Saag Paneer.  Thai is also a great choice for those who like a little heat.  A great dish would be Beef Pad See Ew and Vegetable Pad Thai.  Regardless of what you order, it’ll feel wonderful being able to relax all evening with friends and a delicious meal that you didn’t have to slave over to serve!
