Your Lunch Need a Lift? DC Taxis Join for Better, Faster Deliveries

Exciting news on the delivery-tech front! As of today, the Washington, D.C. Taxicab Commission, better known as the DCTC, has joined forces with as an official local delivery partner. So what’s the big deal, you ask? Well, it’s a huge development for local D.C. delivery, and part of a bigger national movement where local partners are teaming up with us to make a better, faster, more reliable delivery experience. That’s why we already have UberRUSH fulfilling deliveries in markets like New York, Chicago, and San Francisco.

If you’re in D.C. and place an order from a participating restaurant, there’s a good chance it’ll catch a ride from a DCTC driver. The restaurant only has to tap a button and voila! A cab arrives to ferry your food to you as fast as possible.

At the end of the day, you can still order from the same great restaurants and stores. But thanks to the DCTC, new merchants are able to join — including many who couldn’t previously offer delivery — which means more choice for you and easier operations for restaurants.

Here are a few of the new restaurants already offering delivery in partnership with the DCTC:

Merzi | Buredo | Capitol Hill Crab Cakes | Cheers at the Big Chair | Bolt Burger | Mayur Kabab |Tortino.
