It all started in Dallas, Texas – World War I Veteran, Travis Dickey, opened the first Dickey’s Barbecue Pit in 1941. The menu was limited to beef brisket, pit hands, barbecue beans, potato chips, beer, bottled milk & soda while Travis’ wife Ollie kept the books.
Over the past 80 years, three generations of Dickey’s have expanded the menu, started catering, cultivated more original family recipes & passed down the Art of Great Barbecue.

This once single BBQ joint is now open in-store & online with over 550 locations nationwide – with the iconic Big Yellow Cups, Kids Eat Free on Sundays, and legendary Spicy Cheddar Jalapeno Sausage, we’re still smokin quality hand trimmed & rubbed meats low and slow, over hickory wood.
