Over the next few months we’ll be highlighting our Market Operators and the great work they do.

Tell us about your market, do you live there?
We operate 7 markets in the state of Montana. John Allen, Matt Cissel and myself all live in Bozeman where our regional headquarters is. There are just over a million people in Montana and we have locations in the largest populated cities across the state. The entire state has seen tremendous growth this past year with people moving here from all over the country. It’s truly a beautiful place to live and work and we’re all very happy to call Bozeman home.

Any fun facts about your market that you’d like us to know?
Bozeman is the Disney World of outdoor activity. Just minutes from town we have world class skiing, fishing, hunting, climbing, biking, hiking, etc. If you love the outdoors, you must add Bozeman to your list.

How did you get into the food delivery business?
After college I was in investment banking and realized fairly quickly that I didn’t want to wear a suit and tie to work for the rest of my life. I eventually left to explore different entrepreneurial avenues and one industry I was very intrigued by was “multi-restaurant delivery.” In 2010, I started writing the business plan for a resort based delivery service called Dine In Montana to be located in Big Sky. We were open for business the following ski season and then opened a Dine In Wyoming in Jackson Hole shortly after. We were only operating in resort towns until I realized that it was simply too expensive to obtain recurring business when most customers were on vacation only passing through town for a few days. That’s when the focus turned to residential areas with an emphasis on corporate office delivery. We ended up opening locations in Helena and Billings prior to being acquired by Cafe Courier (John Allen) in 2014. We joined the delivery.com family in November of 2019.

Our local relationships with merchants, drivers and customers are the heart of our organization. delivery.com has given us the freedom to get back to focusing more on building those relationships. Did I mention that delivery.com has an amazing customer app?!

Tell us about yourself, what do you do with your time outside of the business?
I grew up skateboarding, snowboarding and playing in a rock band, but today you are more likely to find me on the golf course or writing songs on my acoustic guitar. This past year my wife and I welcomed our first child into the world and being a dad has been such an awesome experience.
